Berkowski and Company is a woman-owned, family-run creative studio in Northern Illinois, designing interactive light art and cozy handmade goods that brings creativity, calm, and connection into everyday life.

Our Story: From Farm to Creative Lightbox Studio

Berkowski and Company began in 2020 as something entirely different - a small micro pasture farm built around a love for nature, simplicity, and working with our hands.

But when farmers markets closed during the pandemic, we were forced to rethink everything.

In 2021, we pivoted toward more festive, handmade products and early versions of woodland products, learning as we went and finding new ways to connect with people. That same year, our journey took on a deeper meaning when our daughter was diagnosed with Epilepsy.

What started as a necessary shift became something much more intentional. We began building not just a business, but a future, one where creativity could become a pathway for confidence, independence, and connection.

Through 2022 and 2023, we continued to grow through festivals and events, refining our ideas and discovering what truly resonated. By 2024, that path led us into more imaginative spaces, including renaissance fairs, where creativity and storytelling came to life.

Today, Berkowski and Company creates 3D printed lightboxes, customizable Glow Panes, and woodland-themed decor designed to inspire creativity, relaxation, and hands-on interaction. Each piece is made in the USA and crafted with both artistry and functionality in mind.

This isn’t just where we ended up. It’s what we were building toward all along.

Family is a huge part of our business model. You can find us partnering up with our favorite local artist ... who also just so happens to be owner Sarah's older sister!
